"...It's not so much about thinking but feeling," the Dacian continued as the transapien listened intently, scrawling notes now and again upon his parchment. "Indeed, it may seem like jumbled nonsense when first spilled forth from one's lips but there tis something stronger about simply offering what tis within your heart than attempting to borrow the poetry of another source. For you see, love is the lyric in a thousand, thousand songs and still ballads are written of it for ne'er shall the proper words ever be fully found. When you are truly possessed by earnest passion and a deep love, you will know there is a drive to try to find proper sentiments and always they will seem to fall short in the end."

"But you can't be saying that it's not worth trying at all...?" Hazalin asked. Alexander chuckled and shook his head.

"Nay. Tis of course worth it. And it tis not to say that you will not grow close in describing your lovely lady. I am only saying that it is likely you will not be able to sum it up in a single poem, a moment, a gesture, mayhaps a lifetime..." the vampire murmured with a crooked grin. "You may tell your lady how beautiful she is...how the light glistens in her eyes to make their own inner glow grow tenfold. And how such spark steals your breath as your heart stutters in your breast. A cage to it that it seems to wish to break free from and soar on high like ne'er before every moment she smiles at you. You could attempt to describe her physical traits...But I might suggest, moreso than anything else, if thee truly wishes to tell her how wondrous she is...describe what it is thee share...what she gives thee."

"Gives me?"

"Indeed." The Dacian shift and gazed at the taller man, his steel-grey eyes sparkling with silver hue. "Does she not make you feel more whole than you were without her? Is there something about the way she laughs or grins, perhaps a certain look she wears or manner in which she does something that just captures you? Parts of her demeanor that astonish even if they seem the simplest things. For, truly, if you speak on how it is that SHE, all that she is, moves you and so stirs your very soul, I can assure, it is that that shall warm her heart more than pretty words tossed about. Think with your mind if you must to analyze, but speak with your heart and let flow the murmurs in your soul. Tell her how it is that you now feel enlivened and how the joy has been a light to cast off any darkness that dare attempt to encircle you. Tell her how the very definition of all that she is can only spell love to you...."


I had to chuckle when Alex got Haz in the secret santa. For one thing, *littlegoblet has been one of the main ones that has come to appreciate my beloved Dacian knight. And so it's only suiting that Alex would get one of her characters...and Haz seems the type that Alex would get along with--I'm sure he'd be fine with Ira but Haz is more the ...gentle soul that a hopeless romantic like Alex would be more...kindred to, I'd think lol. But more than anything I laughed because I had just been joking with littlegoblet when she put up her story parts with Haz's "herpy-derpy" poem and then the whole "diamonds in pools of chocolate" [which my boyfriend enjoyed making his own version of telling me my eyes were like two llama eggs--inside joke with us--floating in a pool of pudding rofl] scene with Xull'rae...saying that Hazalin needed romance lessons from Alex. So when Alex got paired to Haz I knew just what he'd get him. Sit down and talk about how to try to really woo a lady lol. And not with false flatteries but earnestly pour your heart out and make her melt hehehe.
